The Sound of Confident Men!

The St Patrick's College Co-Curricular music department is a large, vibrant, and exciting hub within our College community. Our College has a proud music tradition of both inclusion and excellence. 

Young men of all ages and ability levels are encouraged to participate in a multi-layered music program. 

OUR GOAL 

Our goal is to nurture and develop each young man’s musical expression guided by the professional tutelage of our experienced staff, who are leaders in their field. Our vision is to ignite a passion for music in each young man that can last a lifetime. 

The results of our inclusive program are obvious: our exceptional music team work together to foster the participation of our committed young men in lessons, ensembles, and performances. It is our privilege to see them grow in their maturity, team work and personal expression as we witness the unique sound of confident men!

MULTi-LAYERED MUSIC PROGRAM 

The Co-Curricular Music Program has three key offerings: 

• Music lessons
• Extensive Ensemble program
• Performances 

MUSIC LESSONS: 

30 MINUTES OR 60 MINUTES | INDIVIDUAL OR SMALL GROUP 

Expert teachers provide weekly 30 minute or 60 minutes lessons (individual or small group) which develop skill and confidence in our young men. Many of our students sit AMEB and Trinity College examinations and are successfully nominated for the Conservatorium of Music SHEP and AHEP programs.  

Lessons are provided for: 

• Singing
• Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass
• Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Saxophone (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Baritone)
• Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn, Baritone, Euphonium, Tuba
• Percussion (Tuned, Untuned)
• Guitar (Classical, Acoustic, Electric), Bass Guitar
• Piano
• Theory, Musicianship

EXTENSIVE ENSEMBLE PROGRAM: 20 ENSEMBLES 

Students of all ages participate in more than 20 ensembles rehearsing weekly from beginner to advanced levels. Our ensembles cater to new learners as well students looking to extend skills and knowledge at advanced levels.

PERFORMANCES: INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL 

We provide many opportunities for musicians to perform at a wide variety of functions each year. These performances support our vibrant College community through liturgies, concerts, assembly performances, camps, tours and community events such as competitions and festivals.
